31-year-old boyfriend "saves" household chores to do together with 30-year-old girlfriend, only to sit on the couch and offer "emotional support" while she cleans: "I'm boosting morale!"

Every couple that lives together has their own, special way of divvying up their chores. There isn't a single system that works for everyone. For some, the distribution of household responsibilities comes naturally. For others, it can take some trial and error and a few spats before they sort out a system that works. In my relationship, I'm in charge of the mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting. My boyfriend is tasked with doing the laundry, washing the dishes, and taking out the trash. The bathroom is a joint effort on both of our parts. 
In our story today, a couple are having some growing pains while learning to live together. Our protagonist's boyfriend seems to want to learn how to keep the house tidy, but whenever he suggests cleaning together, he ends up sat on the couch instead while she does all of the heavy lifting. Now she can't help but wonder if this is an intentional ruse to manipulate her into becoming a 60s housewife.
